Chris Wszalek brings more than 15 years of experience in higher education to Academic and Student Affairs at Vanderbilt Business

Chris Wszalek has been named the Executive Director for Student Life, Academic and Student Affairs (ASA) at Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management

Wszalek will set the strategic student experience direction for the school. He serves as the key liaison to Vanderbilt University committees and departments related to student life and academic programs. Wszalek will work under Sue Oldham, Associate Dean, MBA Operations, as he oversees the 2 primary ASA teams, Academic Affairs, and Student Affairs.

“I am honored to join the Academic and Student Affairs team at Vanderbilt Business,” says Wszalek. “It’s exciting to be in a position dedicated to helping lead the overall student experience at Owen.” 

Wszalek is joining Vanderbilt from Syracuse University where he served as Executive Director, Graduate Admissions and Student Recruitment. He comes to Vanderbilt with over 15 years of experience in higher education, more than 10 of that specifically in graduate management education. Wszalek is well-versed in recruiting and admissions, enrollment management, program operations, academic advising, course scheduling, and managing the overall student life experience. 

“I am looking forward to bringing my expertise and passion for graduate management education to Owen during such a special time with the opening of the renovated building.” 

Wszalek received his MBA and BS in Business Administration from Alfred University in Alfred, NY.

Outside of work, Wszalek enjoys spending time with his wife Jessica, and 3 daughters, Sophie, Ava, and Leah.
